BillGoudy sent me a bottle of wine from his home state of Illinois and Illinois oldest operating wineries. Baxter’s Vineyards and Winery has been making wine since 1857 and is currently run by 5th generation Baxter’s. It is located in Nauvoo, Illinois and is on the banks of the Mississippi River. This was a dry red wine, Classic Norton Estate Classics. This red wine has notes of rich spice and smokiness, peppery with a hint of vanilla. This wine is very rich and would pair very well with red meat or salmon. Make sure to check out the website and try some for yourself. Cheers:))
